Call for Submissions: Identify Yourself for After Dark at the Exploratorium

What does it mean to be who you are? Is it biological, situational, political, performative? Do I decide who I am? Do others? What do I need to know to understand myself? What do you need to know to understand me?
The Exploratorium is looking for brief stories, 1-2 single-spaced pages, that explore the many facets of identity. Share your experiences of being and becoming–everyday moments or life-changing episodes that have helped you define who you are.

All written formats welcome (prose, poetry, anecdotes, blog posts, conversations, you name it…). Writers whose entries are selected will receive a $50 honorarium and their pieces will be shared in a public performance at the Exploratorium After Dark: Identity,Thursday May 5, 2016.

Please email your submissions in Word format to ​​identity@exploratorium.edu by April 14, 2016 at 11:59 p.m. PST.
